Chief Justice Recommends CAMP for New Attorneys

The state’s mentoring program “will undoubtedly nurture your career,” Chief Justice Rice says.

Are you a newly admitted attorney in Colorado looking for an experienced attorney to provide you mentoring? Or are you an experienced attorney or judge who knows of a newly admitted attorney in need on mentoring?

Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Nancy Rice has a solution for you. In her April 7, 2015 open letter to newly admitted attorneys, Chief Justice Rice writes in part:

Congratulations on your admission and welcome to the Colorado legal community. As you begin your legal career, I highly encourage you to seek out experienced attorney mentors to help your professional growth. The relationships you establish with experienced attorneys will undoubtedly nurture your career, while simultaneously promoting collegiality within the profession.

The Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program (“CAMP”) can help connect you with qualified experienced attorney mentors. Established by the Colorado Supreme Court in 2013, Camp matches new attorneys with local mentors, and provides mentors and mentees with training and other resources to help their relationships flourish. CAMP partners with local bar associations, Inns of Court's, and other local legal organizations across the state to help new lawyers, like you, develop the skills needed to succeed in this profession.

As Chief Justice Rice mentions, CAMP co-sponsors its programs with the various local bars and other legal organizations in most of Colorado’s 22 Judicial Districts throughout the state.
